"Creating Content for Online Learning, Best Practices and Recommendations" was created as a test run for a request by Coursera. The presentation walks course designers through a systematic design process for backward design. Meaning, the design process starts with analyzing the ultimate outcome goals and works backward towards the entry learning experience for the learner. Learning objectives are established first, then are directly aligned to the assessment strategy. In the backward design process, all of these steps are required before content design can begin.
This project is currently under development and will include a more comprehensive, multi-volume course on Instructional Design for online learning.
